[eiffel_software] Once ("OBJECT") segmentation violation in workbench mode

I've been hit by this this week (ES 15.01).

I see that two years ago Manu advised to use hand-crafted once-per-object
constructions in this thread:

Is there any chance that this will be fixed soon?
